All you have to fo is add some cardamom pods or cardamom powder like other spices in your vegetable or pulses while they are still getting cooked on the gas stove. You can also toss a few cardamom pods while preparing your tea. Savour this tea multiple times a day and feel your gas blow out. If you are not a very kitchen person, you can just toss a few cardamom pods in your mouth and continue chewing and taking its juice down your throat.
Asafetida is a commonly used remedy to prevent contraction of stomach muscles, an exercise that causes pain due to gas. It also prevents relieving of gas by way if farts and thus protecting us of all the embarrassment. Its usage is very simple. You just have to add a teaspoon of asafetida in lukewarm water, it will get dissolved in no time. Drink such a solution multiple times a day. You can also increase the quantity of asafetida while mixing in water and make a thick paste.

It is a very hackneyed remedy and is frequently used in households. As we all know, baking soda is basic in nature and lemon is acidic, when mixed they result in an antacid. You need to take some baking soda in glass and add lemon juice to it. Remember that lemon juice should not be stale. You will hear a fizzing sound. Pour in a cup of water in this mixture and stir it with a spoon so that a solution is formed. Drink this solution. If the problem demands an instant action and the above mentioned process looks really long, you can add some baking soda to water and gulp it down your throat.
Be it indigestion or headache or any related issue, ginger cures it all. We have all seen our mothers rescuing to ginger in the times of heath despair. We cringe and cry when gas hibernates in our stomach and crazily long for some solution. The most easily available solution or remedy is ginger. Chew small pieces of ginger after every meal to keep gas at bay or you can also add ginger to semi cooked food on gas stove or why not go for a ginger tea? No tea leaves, no sugar, just ginger. Just boil a cup of water and as soon as bubbles start forming add some ginger pieces. Keep it on gas for 5 – 7 minutes and enjoy it hot. You can also make a paste of ginger powder mixed with olive oil and rub it on your stomach.
We all love the taste of garlic mixed as puree in dishes but we loath its smell. Don’t we? But do you know that this weird smell is a result of one of its property that is going to act wonders when you will frantically look for a solution to your indigestion. The nature of garlic is hot, it has a lot of latent heat inside it. As a result, as soon as it makes its way into your stomach, its heat pushes the already present gas out, thus providing the much needed relief. To avoid its horrid smell during consumption, you can take it as garlic soup. You can also boil water and on appearing of bubbles add some garlic seeds along with black pepper and cumin and when this boils, strain it in a cup and drink. As a child, everyone loves peppermint candy. But did you know those tasty balls have all the power needed to reduce stomach ache caused due to gas. Peppermint is very famous when it comes to relieving gas and has been used for the purpose since ages. It is, in fact, a fact a famous tradition to toss mint in mouth after meals and people think that it is for flavour. However, the real logic behind is that it prevents formation of gas and thus combats indigestion. But this remedy should not be applied to new born and pregnant women.
Full of licorice nutrients, these seeds are perfect remedy for bloating or indigestion. Just chew these seeds for like 15 – 20 minutes. You can also add fennel seeds while heating the water till it reaches boiling point and air bubbles start forming. Strain the solution in a cup and drink it several times a day. You may also add peppermint and cardamon to this solution, if the taste suits your tongue.
Cinnamon not only pushes the gas out but also deters it from developing. You can consume it with milk by adding a teaspoon full of it in hot milk along with some honey and stir it till they dissolve completely. If you are not a tea drinker, you can simply add the cinnamon to boiling water and keep it on stove for 4 – 5 minutes and drink it after straining.
Using buttermilk to cure gas is an ayurvedic remedy. It instantly relieves one of gastric gas due to its lactic acid. It is advisable to add black salt to instigate its acidic nature. You can also add carom seeds or celery seeds to it. Buttermilk also has a bacteria that boosts the functioning of digestive system. Since it is very light, it is also easier to digest as compared to skimmed milk.
